In Kidnapped, Traci and Michael are fighting one morning at breakfast while they eat their cereal and wait for their aunt to wake up. Their aunt is usually up by 6 o’clock and it is already seven o’clock, so they decide to race up to her room to wake her up like they did when they were younger. She wasn’t in here bed, and there was a ransom note saying that she had been kidnapped and that the kidnapper wants $500 in return. The note specifically says not to call the cops, so they debate on whether or not to do so. (In the path that I chose) They finally decide to not get the cops involved until absolutely necessary. They contact a man that I friends with their aunt and he advises them to search for clues and to notify him if they find anything. They did find one clue on the note that said “H-A-P-Y-B- D-T-R-A-S-I” Then Michael put the clues together, but Traci did not. They eventually headed downstairs where their aunt and friends were all waiting and yelled “surprise!” to Traci. It was Traci’s birthday and her aunt had thrown her a surprise party. It seems that with this book the author is trying to make reading more fun. There are many children that are losing interest in leisure reading due to difficulty or because they do enough of it when they are instructed to in class. This book is like a puzzle or a game. Not only does the fact that it is a game make it more exciting, but it is also a mystery. All mystery books have the ability to keep you on the edge of your seat. I think that this book is awesome because you could read it over and over again and have different outcomes. It like reading a completely different book each time. This book is great for a semi-experienced reader that is looking for something to read that is drastically more exciting than a text book.
