I am really looking forward to this class. This class coincides perfectly with the direction I am taking with school. I plan to graduate with a developmental psychology degree. Since I was very young I have always wanted to help and work with children. My involvement with children has been going on now for the past eight years. I have worked in both formal and informal settings with children, but I know that each experience is new, and different. This type of project may be something I would want to try to start or participate in once I graduate. Since my main goals are family, children, and community I feel that I can only grow and gain from this class and the practicum. Hopefully I will learn new skills in guiding children's lives and to help them grow as individuals. I am excited about getting to have hands on experience with the children, and hopefully with their families as well. The format for the class is also very well structured. Professor Matusov's group discussions and in class videos are really good teaching tools for keeping the students attention, and interests.
