May, I thought you did a really good job on your field notes. You were very descriptive of the characteristics of the kids, interactions that happened between Larry, you, Brian and Juan, and especially insightful when you noticed the learning going on between these two and how you thought that age may have affected this context. It was also intersting to see that both Brian and Juan made the effort to provide guidance to you on how to play the game you were playing. The only issues I have, is try and be aware of the context around you. By this I mean, in addition to describing the characteristics of the kids, describe the setting. This may also affect the kids behavior. Also, ask yourself questions about what you see. Like is learning taking place?, How? With who?, etc. Overall, nice set of first field notes. Ed.
