I wonder can a lecture be collaborative (and not adult-run)? If so, can you describe it?
Eugene
The way many lectures are at this school. The teacher is at the front, the all knowing type, and the students ask him questions that spark a lecture. Therefore, the lecturing still happens, but the students decide what the lecture is about, the focus, etc. and also the students are allowed to interject and change the flow of the lecture.
This was how many of my high school classes were run. The students in a circle, being encouraged to ask the teacher questions, and the teacher adding sections of the lecture for questions. I felt that it was a fairly collaborative, but of course not fully collaborative endever.
