Hello Valierie and everybody--

Thanks for your insightful analysis of the Cole's paper. It is too bad that I couldn't read your message (and people's replies) before the Monday class. You made several excleent point and raised good questions.

One of issues I have with idea of Revolution in Education is how to change insitutions and its participants while treating people respectfully as the highest angets for their own actions. There are and were many interesting ideas (and projects) of school reform but, in my view, many of them tried to "force people into happiness" and those "who doesn't want to be happy" were at least coersed (I put in quotes words of a famous Russian writer Platonov). What do you think?
