Annie, Your field note describes a very interesting event. I think you did a good job trying to solve the conflict between the two boys. I like your reflections and the questions you raised.
It would be interesting to describe explicitly what was the argument of each child and how did you get them to agree to share the game.
You wrote "They didn't sit at the computer together." Did you ask both kids to play the game together? If so, how?
Based on your description of the event between the two children, do you think that these two kids learned something from you or from each other? What do you think they learned?
I like your idea of observing whether boys are less cooperative than girls. I think observing boys and girls more systematically may provide some ideas of whether and under what circumstances they engage in cooperatively or competitively activities.
