Miguel, interesting observations. First off, I didn't get a sense if you did anything else besides interacting with those two young girls? For example, did you first work with them on the computer or on a board game, did you work with other kids or not? In the future, please elaborate more on the interactive context / activity setting that you and the kids were involved in. Secondly, in regards to not wanting to be at the site and discipline, these are some isses we should talke about in class. I do want to say, that it is sometimes difficult (i.e., being there and working with the kids), and we are all aware of this. However, I truelly believe that it is through this difficulty and sometimes struggle that you will eventually see productivity in terms of the kids learning and even you yourself learning. Disciplining the kids is hard. It kids of sets a structure that we want to stay away from. However, it might have been necessary. One suggestion I have, is that in the future if a similar situation happens, play a novice role and ask the kids questions like, "Hey, do you really think we should be running around?" or "Did you know that other people are working and that we might be disturbing them". In this sense, you are providing a context that is more informal in terms of giving the kids a choice. If this does not work, call Maurice the site coordinator. Discipline is more his role. Nice work, Ed.
