Valerie, nice observations. The main theme I got from your field notes was that you noticed a difference between working / interacting with younger vs. older kids. You also mentioned that it was kind of nice to work with older kids like Helda, Kyle, and the other boy, who could process / understand things like the rules of how to play the game of Life. Valerie, I encourage you to think and write about how characteristics such as age plays a role or not in learning. First of all, characteristics like age, gender, use of language, culture, and different expertiese levels. And when I say learning, I'm trying to get you to think hard and write about the kids learning and your own learning. For example, what do you think Helda, Kyle, and the other boy learned from their experience of playing the game of Life with you? Also, what do you think you learned. Lastly, learning may not always occur. You may see situations where you observed that the kids didn't learn or you yourself felt as if you didn't learn. Hope this helps, Ed.
