Hi David--
You wrote an interesting observation. It looks like that Manuela felt more comfortable to try herself at each step before following any of your instruction while you was more comfortable in kids following your instructions immediately. Do you think that there was a difference in teaching-learning styles between you and Manuela? Did somebody observed Manuela (you can make a search among the fieldnotes using her name)? When she accepted your help with Start and Programs buttons how did sho do that? Was she thankful to you in any way? Was there a struggle between her and you when you tried to offer help and she rejected it? If so, how did you manage the struggle? What did you learn fromn this experience? What did Manuela learn?
I think you have a clear inquiry that you didn't write: why the girl rejected your guidance unlike other kids in your past experience? Am I correct, or you have another inquiry?
Eugene
