i think one important advantage of working with children who you are familiar with is that you come to the situation with a little bit of an understanding of where they are at. With norma i knew what stagies she made and it helped me in observing nela. i sort of compared and contrasted. also being familiar tkwith the children allows the awkward wall to be broken down so it is easier to ask for help or to mess up without being embarressed. i
