I have never seen a girl play Oregon Trail. There may have been a few occasions where a girl tried it out, but I've have never seen one stick with it. It's difficult for me to write about what interests girls (I will forever be trying to figure out that enigma), but speaking as a boy who likes to play games, I find the prospects of commanding my own wagon train in the exploration of a savage, untamed land and having adventures while I meet strange and fascinating new people and animals (and getting to shoot them) quite appealing. It's kind of like how I felt when I first came to UCSC, except in that case the wagon train I was commanding was my mom's station wagon.
