I don't necessarily agree that the kids should watch us play the games before they do since the whole idea of collaborative learning is that we learn along with the kids. This doesn't mean that I disagree with your reasoning because I have been playing a game when a child will watch me play, and when he or she gets on the game, they seem to know what to do without having been told. There are also times when the kids playing the games know more about the games than I do. On the other hand, I have found it rewarding that a child wants to play a game because I am playing it when he or she walks up, not because they were thinking of playing the game and I was already on it.
