I wonder about what you felt when Iban ignored your suggestions and won anyway. Is it that he's intelligent, or is it that the games that you see his intelligence on are too simple for him? Being aggressive and domineering surely aren't indications that he is intelligent. Other ways to measure intelligence are asking open-ended questions so he can elaborate an answer, or playing games that are designed to be beyond his level, and seeing if he can grasp the concepts without too much explanations. I don't think I have rated the boys as smarter than the girls, because I know that outside characteristics that are stereotypically indicators of intelligence are usually biased against other types of intelligence. This would be a great research question.
