Hi Christie- and David--
In support of legitimacy of Christie's question as well as David's description about a future kid learning how to surf Internet while sitting on dad's lap, I want to cite a recent research (I forgot where I read about that, sorry) that now it is predominantly males who use Internet (the percentage is very high). However, there is a moderate trend for a change.
I don't think that "You'll have to look for support of your male domination conspiracy theories somewhere else. :)" was a good choice of wording. I personally found that electronic media without face-to-face interaction does not support well irony that I'm sure David wanted to convey. I think that we (i.e., users of the media) underestimate the power of intonation that written language seems to not be able to carry.
