Hi Annie, Your field note is very nicely written!!

You described a very interesting event involving Jose and yourself trying to figure out how to play the Treasure Cove game -- and both of not being able to understand how to play the game. Most interestingly, you described that Jose didn't use any strategy when playing the game and that he didn't read the game's directions. You mentioned that you thought that his not understanding or not using a strategy might relate to not being a native english speaker, or that "maybe his english skills are not very good" (although he speaks english very well). Yet, it is interesting to reflect about you also not figuring out how to play the game. Why do you think that you couldn't play the game either? What other factors do you think are important to consider in learning how to play the game? Also, might what Jose did be considered a strategy?
