christie- the game that nela was playing had the letters so you could see them. i'm almost positive that for the most part she didn't know what the word ment. i do think that language does mask evidence of learning but in this particular case of nela, i think that i was able to notice that she learned. she may not of learned what the game wanted her to learn, but it didn't really matter because i think she learned and she enjoyed herself. in response to the young girl i sat by. when i sat by her i asked if she wanted any help. she shook her head and i still sat there. she seemed to be nervous having me by her so i left and watched her from afar. by herself she seemed more relaxed and although she didn't get the game, she seemed content clicking away. thanks for the response. see you in class. vboes
